Aimee Noel, Physical Education Teacher at Spring Lake Magnet School, inspired by her work on the Wellness Committee and School Improvement Plan, would like to offer volleyball clinics for 3rd and 4th graders. She hopes to open the school gym one Saturday each month beginning in October and ending in January. The students would learn the basic skills of volleyball, the basic rules of the game, and have the opportunity to team with students they wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to meet.

The program would also allow parents to watch and be exposed to a new sport.  After Aimee completes all four clinics she is planning a field trip for clinic participants to participate in a free clinic  hosted by The River City Juniors at The Volleyball Academy in LaVista.  By scheduling this during The Volleyball Academy College Spring Tournament, students would be exposed to volleyball at the College level, as well.
