Koua Moua was an alumni of the Omaha North High Magnet School Class of 2008. He was actively involved in school and his community, serving on the Senior Class Officers, Show Choir and as a Prom Court Nominee. Koua went on to attend the University of Nebraska Omaha with honors and a full-ride scholarship, studying to eventually enroll in nursing school. Those who knew Koua knew him as a selfless, passionate and exemplary individual that had an extraordinary ability to instill kindness and hope in everyone he met.
The Koua Moua Memorial Scholarship was created in his memory, which will live on forever in the hearts and minds of the many individuals he positively affected.
- Must be a graduating senior from Omaha North High School;
- Must prove financial need;
- Must provide a one page essay on the topic, “What this scholarship means to you and how it will help you toward college”;
- Preference will be given to students who are African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, Native American or LGBTQ.
The scholarship is administered by the Omaha Public Schools Foundation. You can contribute to the scholarship through our secure payment gateway. All donations go directly to the Koua Moua Memorial Scholarship and there are no administrative fees taken.
