Mrs. Martha Stofko is a former teacher and principal with nearly 30 years of experience in the Omaha Public Schools. She was principal of Benson West Elementary School from 1999-2007.
Purpose:
To provide financial assistance to a former 6th grade graduate of Benson West Elementary School who is seeking post-secondary education.
Eligible Schools:
All OPS High Schools
Selection Criteria:
- Student must have attended Benson West Elementary for a minimum of three years and graduated 6th grade from the school.
- Student must demonstrate financial need and submit a scholarship financial statement.
- Student must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher or school administrator.
- Student must submit a recent transcript showing a minimum grade point average of 3.0.
- Student must submit an essay stating their personal and professional goals.

Selection Process:
Selection will be made by Mrs. Martha Stofko. Should you be selected for this award, please send verification of your enrollment at the college or university of your choice and a “Thank You” note directed to the donor to Omaha Public Schools Foundation. The award will be forwarded to the college of choice upon receipt.
